Delta sophomore, Alexandria Pereira, has been chosen for the 2020 Digital Documentary Showcase hosted by the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) for her National History Day documentary, Dr. Patricia Bath: Breaking Racial, Gender, Medical, and Economic Barriers. You can view her documentary (along with others featured) until June 24th, 2020 at http://s.si.edu/NHDShowcase2020.
"Her documentary on Dr. Patricia Bath is outstanding! Dr. Bath broke barriers in history as the first African American female Dr. of Ophthalmology, the first to receive a patent, and the innovator of modern cataract eye surgery that has restored vision to millions around the world, all the while breaking down the barriers of race and gender as well. I hope you will all take the time to view the film and more amazing student work." says 10th grade teacher, Mr. David Blacketer.
Congrats & way to go, Alex!
