Dear Parents,
This morning a student made some concerning comments to some friends about potentially hurting other people at school. The students responded appropriately by immediately informing an adult. After thoroughly reviewing the situation, with the partnership of the Pasco Police Department, we have determined that there is no credible threat to anyone here at Delta HS.
These types of situations are always taken very seriously and we appreciate the quick response by our students and staff to address the concerns. We are now focusing on ensuring that the appropriate support is being provided to all students involved.
Delta High School is a special place. We are more than just a school—we are a community. It is our goal that every student at Delta feels welcomed, feels valued, and feels supported by fellow students and by school staff. We encourage all of our students that, if they ever need support, to please speak with a staff member or parent. We are also asking our community members to focus our energy on kindness, on compassion, and supporting one another to be successful and to be the best students and human beings we can be. The more each and every community member feels this kindness and support, the safer our school will become. Thank you, and please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions.
