Speech & Debate

The Speech and Debate club meets every Thursday in Room 129 from October through March. Please contact Ms. Hyde for more details.

We are a competitive team who travel across Eastern Washington for competitions that mainly occur on Saturdays.

The competitive season begins with practices in October and goes through the State competition in March. We have events for debaters (plan and prepare both sides of a given argument), platform speeches (informational or persuasive on a topic you choose), short preparation (given a prompt, come up with a new speech every time),  and interpretation (acting).
