Course Description:

Pre-Engineering is a combination of mechanical and electrical engineering using project based learning format.  Students will be engaged in project building, science inquiry, data gathering, analysis, documentation and dissemination of results.  

Many of the learning activities are aligned and integrated with Science 3-4, algebra and  physics.  This will allow a more enriched and integrated engineering and science experience for all students.

 Students will:

  • build and develop working prototypes for performance testing and demonstration
  • practice science inquiry  as they build and test prototype design, data gathering, analysis of test results to answer questions. 
  • document technology development in the form of technical writing, drawings and multimedia presentations and a web site.
  • gain skills in 3D parametric modeling software (SolidWorks™) and schematic capture software (Altium™)
